Update! Friends of Historic Nacogdoches, Inc. and our E. J. Campbell Committee are pleased to announce Joel Turner of Colorado is creating the statue of noted African American educator and civic leader, E. J. Campbell. Turner's clay sculpture is now at the foundry being cast in bronze.
The public is invited to support the E. J. Campbell Statue by donating. We will accept contributions of any amount.
Patrons giving $1000 will have one line on the statue donor plaque; patrons who give $2000 will have two lines on the statue donor plaque (up to 30 characters per line).
Another opportunity to celebrate this beloved educator of Nacogdoches is to donate to a separate plaque, the "Honor Roll of Beloved Educators." You could list your favorite teacher, the one who changed your life. The plaque will be at the E. J. Campbell Statue site. In donating a $1000 to the Honor Roll, you not only support the E. J. Campbell Statue, but also you celebrate that beloved soul who gave you the world through education.
